At Gibbon Experience, we believe in trees: we protect the most ancient ones and build tree houses in a few others…
In return, we’ve been planting trees since 2009 following two reforestation schemes:
- A commercial approach on the farmland surrounding the National Park, with an aim to foster sensible logging practices with valuable, fast growing tree species, such as teak.
- A non-commercial approach on the degraded parts of the National Park, with diversified tree species to support canopy reconstitution.
We consider reforestation in and around the Nam Kan National Park a strategic long-term tool to complement day-to-day conservation activities. In this equation, carbon absorption is not even accounted for. Each year, hundreds of trees come out of our dedicated tree nursery.
